About the PTA
A Parent - Teacher Association or PTA is a group that brings together parents and teachers with a shared interest in supporting their school.
A successful PTA has three parts- the School, Fundraising, the Volunteers

Organise social and educational evenings to meet other parents and staff
Raise common concerns (e.g. anti-bullying policies
Other benefits include
• Regular updates on school activities and policies
• Access to teachers and administrators
• Access to resources on parenting, education, and more
Why should you join the PTA?
Joining the PTA is a great experience. You could:
Help and support organising fundraising and social events
Tell the PTA about your ideas, interests and concerns
Come to information evenings to find out about changes in education
Give support on regular school events as sports days, open days or school trips.
Act as an informal channel of communication between parents and staff.
You don’t need any specific skills or experience, just a commitment to take an active role in your child’s school. If you do have specific skills and experience, like fundraising or organising events, then getting involved with the PTA gives you an excellent opportunity to share those skills.
