Heatwave Warning & Temporary School Adaptations
Heatwave Warning and Temporary School Adaptations
Dear Parents, Carers, and Students,
In response to the Met Office Amber Extreme Heat Warning and the high temperatures forecast for London this week, we are introducing temporary measures to ensure the comfort and safety of our school community. As our older school buildings can struggle with temperature regulation, the following adaptations will be in place until the end of this week.

Uniform Adaptations
Students are permitted to modify their uniform and may choose to wear either of the following options:
-
Modified Uniform: School trousers and a school shirt tucked in. Shirts may be short-sleeved, or long sleeves can be rolled up. No tie or blazer is required.
-
PE Kit: The official NCC PE kit. As an alternative, a white school shirt or plain white t-shirt worn with school PE shorts (no t-shirts with logos).
Hydration and Sun Protection
-
Reusable Water Bottles: All students should have a reusable water bottle with them. To minimise disruption, these must be filled before lesson time (during morning registration, break, or lunch).
-
Suncream: Students should wear suncream and ensure it is applied before arriving at school to protect against high UV levels.
-
Sun Hats: Plain sun hats or caps with no logo will be permitted and are encouraged during outdoor break times (cannot be worn indoors).
These relaxed guidelines are strictly to help students manage the exceptional heatwave and will remain in effect until the end of the school day on Friday.
Thank you for your swift cooperation in helping us keep our students safe and comfortable.
Kind regards,
The School Leadership Team
