Sixth Form Curriculum

The Sixth Form curriculum is specifically tailored to meet the needs of our learners. A mixture of qualifications are offered that are both academic and vocational. Students can study from the following subjects:

KS5 Level 3

Applied Science, Art, Business, Computer Science, Core Maths, Design Technology, Economics, Geography, Government and Politics, History, Maths, Medical Science, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Psychology, Sociology

All students have to study PSHE, General Religious Education and Enrichment 

KS5 Level 2

Maths, English, Art, Business, Performing Arts, Physical Education, Science, Travel and Tourism 

All students have to study PSHE, General Religious Education and Enrichment 

Advanced Level Pathway (A-levels) 

  • Economics
  • Government and Politics
  • History
  • Art and Design
  • Maths

NB: All entrants must have six, 4-9 grades at GCSE (including English and Maths).

Vocational Pathway (BTEC Level 3 Extended) 

  • Performing Arts (Cambridge Technicals Level 3)
  • Applied Science
  • Business

NB: All entrants must have five, 4-9 grades at GCSE (including English and Maths).

 STEPS Pathway (Intermediate)

  • GCSE English
  • GCSE Maths

     in combination with at least two of the following subjects

  • GCSE Art
  • GCSE Business
  • City and Guilds Level 2 ICT
  • BTEC Performing Arts
  • V Cert in Physical Education 
  • GCSE Science
  • GCSE Geography

NB: Entrants on to this qualification will have previous experience undertaking GCSE qualifications, but have not yet satisfied the entry requirements for advanced or vocational level study.

BTEC Vocational Studies (Foundation) 

  • Functional Skills English
  • Level 1 Lines and Numeracy     

     in combination with at least two of the following subjects

  • ICT
  • Travel and Tourism
  • Carpentry 
  • Vocational Skills
  • Performing Arts

NB: This is a one year qualification, for students who have not attained or previously studied GCSE's. This qualification will lead onto GCSE level study.
