NewmanCatholic College

A UNICEF Rights Respecting School

School of the Year 2017 at the London Citizens Schools Conference

The Citizens UK Schools Conference was held on Thursday 2nd March. This was an amazing event which motivated and inspired our young people. Citizens UK unites people of different faiths and backgrounds to work together for the Common Good.

We were very privileged to have the dynamic Baroness Tessa Jowell as our keynote speaker and special guest. Students participated in a number of workshops. Newman students presented a workshop on Local Action which highlighted their City Safe Haven in Harlesden as well as their work to highlight the housing crisis.

Newman Catholic College won two  prestigious awards at the London Citizens Schools Conference!

  • Largest City Safe Zone 2017.
  • London Citizens School of the Year 2017.
Many thanks to Mr King and Miss O'Connell who inspired the group, week in and week out and are the key to the success and achievements of the group. We are very grateful for their ongoing support and commitment.
